Porsche dealers in the country have started accepting bookings for the 2018 Cayenne. The new Porsche Cayenne is already on sale in the international markets and is available in two variants – the Cayenne and the Cayenne S. Although the new model does not get major exterior upgrades, the interior however gets considerable changes this time around.
Under the hood, the new Porsche Cayenne gets six-cylinder petrol engine options. The 3.0-litre engine generates 336bhp of power and 450Nm of torque, while the S variant is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo engine that generates 435bhp of power and 550Nm of torque. The trims are expected to be offered with the optional Sport Chrono package at the time of its debut in India. Both the engine options will come mated to a eight-speed tiptronic transmission.
The upcoming Porsche Cayenne features a functional as well as futuristic cabin. Along with premium upholstery, the vehicle also features a large 12.3-inch infotainment system and a new instrument cluster. In terms of safety, the vehicle will come loaded with all the modern equipment like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, cruise control and more. Post launch, the new Porsche Cayenne will compete against the likes of the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Jaguar F-Pace and the Mercedes-Benz GLE in India. Although, the company is yet to announce the launch date for the new Cayenne in India, we speculate it will be introduced sometime in the second quarter of 2018.
