Last week we had brought to you camouflaged pictures of what was supposed to be the Porsche 911 GT2 RS – the fastest production 911 yet. The German performance marque has unveiled the 2018 911 GT2 RS digitally as of now and it does look raucous.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has debuted as the cover star for the next game of the Forza series, Motorsport 7, which is expected to be released on October 3, later this year. Which means, the car will also debut around that time which brings it tantalisingly close to Frankfurt’s International Auto Show in the third week of September.
The 2018 GT2 RS gets a rather square look in the front, with the rectangular three-part air dam and gets a large lip spoiler to wedge the airflow. The LED daytime running lamps now merge into the bumper and the U-shaped stripe on the bumper adds to the drama. The fins on the front fenders give it the madness along with the large fixed spoiler in the back and the rear diffuser.
Being a GT2 RS, you will pay-more-for-less inside the cabin in true Porsche fashion but you will not be complaining at all after you punch the about 640bhp motor to life. The 3.8-litre straight six gets bigger turbos, revised internals and a custom titanium exhaust to deliver 750Nm of torque to the rear wheels through a PDK gearbox. You might not get a manual gearbox option but would it really matter?
