The Japanese manufacturer, Nissan updated their long running horse, the 370Z for MY2018 (make year-2018). The sports coupe has gone through a midlife update and now carries some visual changes and a few mechanical tweaks.
On the outside, the company has added blackened door handles and rear diffuser. As if that was not sporty enough, the company now also offers smoked headlamps and tail lamps as standard. To add to the sporty nature of the coupe, the 370Z now gets a freshly designed set of 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the 2018 370Z is a seven-inch infotainment touch screen which features a SAT-NAV system, screen for the rear view camera and a DVD player. That's right! A DVD player in a two door sports car!
The only mechanical change on the updated 370Z is that the car now gets a high performance clutch by EXEDY. However the EXEDY clutch is only available in manual transmission and is said to offer precise downshift with reduced driver pedal effort.
Powering the 2018 370Z is the same 3.7-litre V6 engine churning out 323bhp – a direct carry forward from its predecessor. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a choice of six speed manual gearbox or a seven speed automatic gearbox.
The 370Z coupe went on sale in India back in 2010. However, for reasons best known to them, the Nissan discontinued the car in 2014. With the launch of the updated 370Z, we now see a silver lining in that cloud. It is being speculated that the new Z may arrive at the Indian shore to rival against the Germans – BMW Z4 and the Audi TT.
