Post much wait, the 2018 Mini Countryman has finally been launched in India. The second-generation Countryman is available in three trims - Countryman Cooper S, Countryman Cooper SD and the Countryman S JCW Inspired. So here below are the highlights of the new model:
The fascia looks traditional with the single barrel headlamps and moustache like grille.Moreover, the car gets a sportier stance this time around.
The new squared headlamps are all-LED with projector lenses. While intelligent headlamps are optional, it gets auto-headlamp function and follow-me-home function as standard.
The German car manufacturer claims that the new model is 20mm longer, 3cms wider and has a 7.5cm longer wheelbase than its predecessor. The design elements that are typical of the brand, including the short overhangs and large wheel arches.
The rear section carries most of the styling elements from its predecessor. However, the shiny chrome bits are hard to miss, including the twin exhausts.
The Countryman offers 450-litres of boot space which can be extended to a total of 1,309-litres. Fold down the rear seats and it offers an additional 220-litres of boot space over its predecessor.
Step inside and you will be welcomed by a large infotainment display, premium upholstery, steering mounted controls, ambient lighting and more.
The new eight-speed automatic transmission comes as a replacement to the older six-speed transmission.
Engine options include a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 192bhp/280Nm and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with 150bhp/330Nm.
