-Â Â Â Mid-life update for the sedan
-Â Â Â New tail lamps
-Â Â Â Possible upgraded interiors
-Â Â Â New 1.5-litre petrol engine expected to be on offer
The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been spotted doing the rounds in public ahead of its expected launch later this year. This is a mid-life update for the Indo-Japanese automaker’s C-segment sedan since it was launched in 2014.
This update sees the car get a new face, tail lamps and a new design for the alloy wheels. Of these, it looks like the face has got the most major update thanks to the addition of chrome inserts, a new grille and fog lamps.
The other major update for the sedan is expected to be a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine has already debuted in the next-gen Indonesia spec Ertiga and is expected to be offered on the Ciaz as well as the S-Cross. This engine produces 104bhp/138Nm and replaces the current 1.4-litre unit.
When launched, this updated Ciaz will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and the Skoda Rapid in the C-segment sedan category.Â
