The Lincoln MKX has been spied on the streets of Michigan with heavy camouflage. The spy shots confirm that the Lincoln MKZ will get its first round of updates since its launch in 2015.
The new vehicle will adopt a revised front end and will carry the family design seen on the recent Lincoln MKZ and Continental sedan. The new SUV will also get the iconic grille design as a part of Lincoln design language. The front will also house a split two-tire headlamp assembly adding it a more futuristic look.
Inside the cabin, the MKX should get some light updates and perhaps more Black Label special edition. The new vehicle will get an updated safety feature like automatic emergency braking however it may be an optional feature or will be offered in the top trims.
The MKX will source its power from the same 3.7-litre Ti-VCT V6 engine as the current generation although there is a possibility for a smaller four cylinder engine to makes it way in the new SUV. The new 9-speed automatic developed with GM could replace the current six-speed unit in the upcoming car.
The updated vehicle will hit the American market early next year. Post its launch it will continue its competition with Audi Q5, Infinity QX70, Lexus RX350, Nissan Murano, Cadillac SRX and the Volvo XC60.
