Ahead of its official debut later this year, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler has been spotted testing in Goa. The iconic SUV from the American car manufacturer was last showcased at the 2017 Los Angeles Motor Show. Along with fresh cosmetic and feature upgrades, the new model also gets a longer wheelbase with more space for occupants.
Based on what was seen at the LA Motor show, the new Wrangler now gets large full-LED headlights and LED DRLs. The front features a redesigned grille for freshness along with a lowered beltline that has enabled the American car manufacturer to offer a larger glasshouse for better outward visibility. As for the interior, it gets premium upholstery and a seven-inch TFT LED driver information display and an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the new model also gets longer armrests, push-button starter with a weather-proof surround and 12-volt and 115-volt for mobiles, laptops and other electronic charging.
The one showcased internationally comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine option. Transmission option includes a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Interestingly, the new model also comes with a start-stop technology. Engine options for the Indian market is not known for now and it is speculated that the company might introduce new engine options for the Indian market.
