- Available in two variants Asta and Magna Executive
- Only with 1.2-litre petrol engine
- Showcased at Auto Expo 2018
- Will rival Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz CVT
Hyundai has launched the Elite i20 CVT in the Indian market at Rs 7.04 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). This CVT box was showcased at the launch of the facelifted Elite i20 during the 2018 Auto Expo. It’s available only with the 1.2-litre petrol mill and is offered in the Magna Executive and Asta variants.
There’s no change in external or internal appearance of the car apart from the CVT badging and obviously the gear lever inside the cabin. Both these variants are offered with exactly the same features as their manual counterparts. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit producing 82bhp/115Nm with power going to the front wheels via either a five-speed manual or now a CVT too.
Commenting on the launch of the Elite i20 CVT, Y K Koo, managing director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, “ India’s most loved and awarded, Indian Car of the Year 2015 winner Elite i20 has been a global success ever since its launch. The CVT option with a 1.2 L Petrol engine coupled with hi-tech Convenience features offering uncompromised safety will make driving a brilliant experience.”
