2018 Honda Jazz launched in India at Rs 7.35 lakhs

-    Honda launched the new and updated Jazz with subtle styling changes, updated interiors and added safety features.

-    Continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel with a CVT and manual gearbox.

-    Two new colour options are part of the update.

Honda India has officially launched the updated Jazz hatchback in India for the price of Rs 7.35 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback gets slight cosmetic updates along with added features and a revised cabin. 

The 2018 Jazz will now be available in just two petrol trims – V and VX – and three diesel variants – S, V and VX. Both the petrol variants will get the CVT automatic transmission as optional. The cabin gets premium beige upholstery whereas the exterior paint gets two new metallic colour schemes - Radiant red, Lunar Silver. Also available on the top-spec variant is the new “signature LED wing” tail light. It also gets a cruise control, smart keyless remote entry, and front centre armrest along with the update. The 15-inch alloy wheels come as standard. The seven-inch infotainment screen comes with the navigation screen, rear camera view and smartphone connectivity.

The updated Jazz gets no mechanical changes to go with the update. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel with 98bhp and 200Nm will be available with a six-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine will be the 1.2-litre i-VTEC producing 90bhp and 110Nm and will be mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters. 

Speaking on the introduction of the 2018 Jazz, Rajesh Goel, senior vice president and director, sales and marketing, Honda Cars India, said, “We are extremely delighted to introduce the Honda Jazz 2018 with enhanced features. In line with changing customer preferences in favour of automatics, the Jazz is now being offered with advanced CVT technology across the petrol range to cater to a larger number of customers opting for automatic transmission cars for an absolutely comfortable and engaging drive.”

The 2018 Jazz continues to rival the updated Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the premium hatchback segment.
