- Bookings for the new Honda Amaze start tomorrow for a token amount of Rs 21000
- Due for launch in May
- Likely to get diesel automatic transmission for the first time
Back in February 2018, Honda had showcased the new Amaze for India at the Auto Expo event. Tomorrow onwards, around two months down the line, the dealers will start accepting bookings for the same. Interested customers can book one for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The vehicle will be officially launched in May this year.
The new Honda Amaze is built on a new platform and is now more aerodynamic than its predecessor. In terms of design, the second-generation Amaze borrows a lot of cues from the upcoming 10th generation Accord. Under the hood, the new Amaze will continue to be powered by the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines from its predecessor. However, this time around we expect to see CVT gearbox being offered in the diesel version. Interestingly, this might also be the first car from the Japanese car manufacturer to be offered with a diesel CVT option.
At the time of launch, the new Honda Amaze will be offered with standard safety equipments such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix child seat anchors. The company claims that the new model also offers a spacious cabin and high quality materials for the upholstery. We expect the new Amaze to be priced slightly higher than the current generation model. More details on the prices for the new Amaze will be known next month.
