Honda is hard at work developing an all-new version of the Accord. A prototype of this hugely popular luxury sedan was recently spotted on test, showing off its new, sharper front-end look.
The big news around the new Accord is that it will get a new platform that will be shared with the 2017 Civic. Honda is doing this as to reduce platform counts and expand useage of modular pieces. Interestingly, the upcoming gen Accord could be slightly smaller externally than the outgoing model given that Honda no longer builds two different models for different markets. Expect Civic-like sharp design elements but with a more upright profile.
Engines are likely to continue as updated versions of existing units in the Accord although a turbocharged four-cylinder is almost certainly to be offered while the V6 could be axed. Honda will also continue with a hybrid version, probably using the same powertrain in the 2017 Accord Hybrid.
