The 2018 Ford Mustang GT gets much more than a regular midcycle update. The American car manufacturer claims that the new model is the quickest Mustang GT to date. Reports indicate that the new Mustang GT sprints from 0 - 100kmph in less than 4 seconds. The vehicle also gets the line lock feature and a new styling pack.
Under the hood, the 2018 Ford Mustang GT gets a 5.0-litre V8 engine that generates 454bhp of power and 569Nm of torque. The upgraded engine comes mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission and new electronic drag mode. The car manufacturer claims that the new transmission offers quicker shifts and better low-speed response in comparison to the outgoing six-speed automatic.
Currently prices and fuel efficiency figures is not available for now and will be known at the time of its launch in next few months. Currently, the V8 Chevrolet Camaro SS claims to sprint from standstill to 100kmph in 4-seconds flat and the 2018 Ford Mustang GT might emerge as a champion in case it manages to stand to true to its claims of doing a 0-100kmph in less than 4-seconds.
