The 2018 version of the Ford Mustang will be faster and will return better fuel efficiency than its outgoing model. These details were leaked through a spec sheet on a Mustang forum.
The American manufacturer has tinkered with the overall styling to offer better aerodynamics. The Mustang is equipped with all-new LED headlamps and is being offered with three new paint schemes. On the inside, the 2018 Mustang has dumped the traditional display dials with digital ones. While the leaked brochure did mention the Mustang's 2.3-litre Ecoboost and 5.0-litre V8 motors, the power output space has been simply marked as ‘to be determined’.
Ford claims the ride quality of the Mustang has been improved through new shock absorbers. The handling dynamics have been updated too and customers who opt for the Mustang Performance Package will get to enjoy Ford's Magneride adaptive dampers. Additionally, the 2018 Mustang gets the Fordpass smartphone app through which customers can lock, unlock, find and start their Mustang through a smartphone. Ford has also included pre-collision systems and pedestrian detection on the Mustang to take the safety aspect to a different level.
The new Mustang will be available in both, coupe and convertible versions, with the former also benefitting from a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The new Mustang is expected to be officially revealed in the beginning of 2018.
