The new Raptor has been on sale for about a year but Ford will be making some changes to the vehicle for 2018. The updated pick-up was recently spied in Dearborn in a completely undisguised avatar.
The truck will follow suit with the rest of the F-150 lineup by receiving a refreshed tailgate, but that's where it appears to stop. Ford hasn’t made changes to the front-end or the taillights. We expect the F-150 to soldier on into 2018 with the 3.5 Ecoboost motor.
The F-150, as we know, is the highest-selling pick-up on sale today. The new model, revealed earlier this year, received some cosmetic changes to keep it fresh and visually interesting. The front end matches the Super Duty two-bar design albeit with softer design cues. The tailgate also got a redesign with a new handle and a more subdued look without a visible crease.
The F-150 currently gets a V6 turbodiesel engine which undoubtedly will be more efficient than the old 2.7-litre EcoBoost engine. The former is paired to a 10-speed automatic developed jointly with GM. The EcoBoost, meanwhile, has been updated for more power and efficiency.
