Recent spy shots seem to point to the fact that a facelifted Ford Endeavour is in the works. Rumours have it that the manufacturer also plans to upgrade the safety system for the 2018 model. Launched in early 2016, the Ford Endeavour is expected to receive refreshed looks by 2018 – as the spy shots suggest.
The spotted test mule has a camouflaged front which hides the cosmetics updates. The new Ford Endeavour is expected to receive a restyled bumper and a more aggressive grille inspired from the Ford F-150. The cosmetic updates are limited to the front end of the car and the rest of the styling and design stays unchanged from the current model. There may be a few tweaks done to the interior in keeping with the refreshed looks of the car.
For the upcoming 2018 Endeavour, the manufacturer's plan to upgrade the safety feature of the car by offering AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) system. Autonomous Emergency Braking systems detect obstacles through radar and sensors and warn the driver or automatically apply brakes to avoid or mitigate a crash. Ford has a number of local engineers working on autonomous vehicle technologies in Australia at its You-Yangs proving ground.
This midlife update could be the manufacturer's attempt to narrow the vast chasm in the sales figures of the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
The updated Ford Endeavour is expected to hit the Indian shore early next year i.e at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. When launched, the 2018 Ford Endeavour will continue its rivalry with Toyota’s flagship SUV, the Fortuner, and the recently launched Volkswagen Tiguan.
