Acura thrilled the audience at the ongoing North American International Auto Show in Detroit with the unveiling of a fully-redesigned 2019 RDX. Reports indicate that the new five-seat RDX is now longer and wider than its predecessor. Moreover, the company claims that the new model is the fastest and the best handling RDX ever which is slated to be introduced in mid-2018.
The upcoming Acura RDX gets an all-new powertrain along with a lighter and stiffened body. The longer wheelbase offers more cabin space for occupants. Mechanically, the vehicle gets a 2.0-litre DOHC VTEC turbo engine mated to a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission which powers all four-wheels. As for the interior, the vehicle gets premium leather upholstery with wood and aluminum finishes. The company claims to offer the biggest moon roof in its class along with NSX-inspired drive mode selection knob which allows the driver to switch between Sport, Sport+, Comfort, and Snow. The vehicle also features a large 10.2-inch android-based infotainment system.
The RDX has been the most popular selling model for Acura with five consecutive years of record sales. Moreover, the vehicle has also witnessed seven straight years of year-over-year sales growth. The new model is further expected to boost its sales this year owing to its fresh appeal.
