Dacia has just revealed an entirely new version of its popular compact SUV, the Duster. The rugged looking model has been given a rather sleek and contemporary look at the front and rear end. The Duster, as we know, is sold by Renault here in India and this new model will be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
Besides a new colour option called Atacama Orange, the 2018 Duster gets plenty of design updates. Up front, the grille extends to the headlights, making the model appear wider. There’s also a new lighting signature with LED daytime running lights divided into three sections. The crease lines of the horizontal bonnet contribute to the Duster’s tough stance.
On the sides, the higher belt line adds to the tough look. However, the 2018 Duster doesn’t look all that different in profile. The windscreen has been brought forward 100mm compared to the current Duster and is more steeply raked. Other changes include new 17-inch alloys and prominent wheel arches.
The rear-end is where the Duster appears all-new. The model now gets a Dacia’s typical lighting theme with four red stacked squares, for a funky look. Additionally, there’s also a wider, satin chrome finish rear skid plate. Mechanically, the 2018 Duster retains the same underpinnings including the 1.5-litre diesel and several petrol engine options.
Following its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2018 Duster will go on sale in specific European markets early next year.
