BMW India recently launched the X3 xDrive20d M Sport at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Presently, this is the only other trim of the X3 on sale apart from the Expedition trim. Let's take a look at the pictures of the X3 xDrive20d M Sport, which is positioned above the Expedition variant and comes with added features.
This X3 M Sport looks like the more athletic cousin of the standard X3. All thanks to the M aerodynamics package, M Sport badges, M doorsills and the 18-inch alloy wheels.
Like the regular X3 SUV, this trim is also being offered in four exterior colour options. These include alpine white, melbourne red, carbon black and space grey.
There are plenty of customisation options available in the cabin. The regular M Sport equipment like an M Sport steering wheel is a given. However, the upholstery options make this one stand out.
Front and rear sports seats can be had either with Nevada Beige or Mocha leather upholstery. Then, the headliner finished in anthracite also adds to the exclusivity.
The most evident change on the dashboard is the 8.7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen as against the 6.4-inch, non-touch display offered on the Expedition trim.
This infotainment system has 20 GB of internal storage and comes paired with a 205-watt, nine-speaker audio system. A 'Professional' navigation system with 3D maps is also offered.
There is not much of a difference in the boot space capacity or storage options. However, a storage compartment package is offered as standard with this trim.
Powertrain options haven't changed and the X3 xDrive20d M Sport continues to derive power from the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine as on the Expedition version.
This mill produces 188bhp of power and a peak torque of 400Nm, which is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The safety equipment and other features remain more or less the same in the sporty SUV. Four driving modes are on offer including ECOPRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
