Audi has launched the all-new generation of their most popular SUV, the Q5, beginning at a price tag of Rs 53.25 lakhs, ex-showroom, India. While you get the Premium plus trim at this price, the fully loaded Technology Pack trim comes in at Rs 57.60 lakhs. So, here are some snippets about the new Audi Q5.
The new Q5’s fascia is all-new and it gets the new hexagonal grille along with the all-new LED headlamps and daytime running lamps. The hood creases add muscle to it along with the chrome-bumper.
The profile is fairly similar to the previous generation car, but you can clearly see the straight cut lines unlike the rounded curved of the previous car. The cladding that skirts around the car gives it a rugged look.
Move to the rear and one is greeted by a typically Audi visage, with the multiple planes and contours that come together to make the tailgate. The twin exhaust pods add the touch of sportiness to the premium SUV.
As far as interiors go, the dashboard is a wood-panelled premium affair that now has a floating tablet infotainment display. The centre console houses the three-zone climate control system along with additional functions.
You also get modern fancy stuff like the NFC charging technology for the latest smartphones and a touchpad to get hold of the Audi MMI infotainment system and a host of vehicle functions like ambient interior lighting.
The new three-spoke steering gets all the required controls and the analog instrument cluster is replaced by a TFT screen. You can change it according to what you want – sporty dials, navigation or the regular display.
While the space in the front row is generous, the Q5 also offers a good amount of space for the rear passengers along with the rear AC vents and the temperature control fob.
The Audi Q5 also has one of the largest boots in the segment and with completely foldable rear seats, it becomes a huge cargo bay if you want to lug large stuff. You can also get the electrically operated tailgate.
Panoramic sunroof has now become a standard in all luxury cars and Audi has done it in style. The electrically operated sun-blind goes all the way back while the fore glass half opens up if you want some wind in the hair.
The Audi Q5 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine which develops 188bhp of power and comes paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard on both the trims.
