2017 Volkswagen Polo spotted without any camouflage

Volkswagen has confirmed that the next generation Polo will be in production by next month and is expected to debut in the second half of 2017. What´s more, recently the 2017 VW Polo was spotted without any camouflage near the manufacturer´s headquarters in Wolfsburg.

The spied images display a new set of alloy wheels which were hitherto not visible in previous spy pictures. The images spied prior to this hid a slated radiator grille with chrome accents to it.

The manufacturer has discarded the PQ25 platform and based the 2017 Polo on the new MQB platform. The new platform will make the car lighter than before and also allow space for a pretty roomy cabin on the inside. The 2017 Polo will also expand in terms of dimensions, however, it will still stay under four meters in length.

Major changes could be expected on the inside of the cabin. With its stretched dimension, the car will now offer more legroom for the passengers in the rear seat. The company may also install the new 9.2inch navigation and infotainment system seen in the recently updated Golf.

The 2017 Polo will be powered with an array of three or four cylinder petrol engines. The engines expected to be fitted up are 1.0TSI and the 1.4TSI. The former one produces 108bhp and 200Nm of torque and the latter one is capable of producing 124bhp with 200Nm of torque.  The engines will be mated to a five speed or a six speed manual gearbox and a seven speed DSG gearbox for automatic variants.

Although the manufacturers have confirmed that the 2017 Polo will make a debut later this year, there has been no information put out regarding bringing the new Polo to Indian shores as of now. But we expect it to hit our markets by 2018.
