Toyota has put the latest iteration of the Vios on sale in Thailand, which is expected to be launched for the Indian market as well. This is the facelifted Vios that gets a new design language and has borrowed a lot of styling traits from the new-gen Camry. Let's get into the intricate details of the car through this picture gallery.
The fascia has gone a major makeover with a big black and chrome grille with the same V-shaped design element.
The 2017 Vios also gets new horizontal sweptback headlamps with projector lamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
The new bumper looks well designed and houses vertical LED DRLs on either ends. The large and wide air intakes are new, while the round fog lamps have been reworked as well.
The new Vios looks good even from the sides. This is because of the bold character lines, new alloys and the slightly flared wheel arches.
Toyota has done a fantastic job in giving the car a proportionate and stylish appearance. The ORVMs are also new and come integrated with turn indicators.
The rear, on the other hand, is simple and minimalistic. It sports large wraparound LED tail lamps connected by a sleek chrome strip.
The beefy bumper is tweaked as well, but still looks a bit out of place for the styling cues that have been brought in. It doesn’t gel with the sporty styling cues given to the car.
Toyota has revamped the interior to enhance the premium quotient inside. The sleek buttons with large dials allow one to control various features in the cabin.
The cabin features an all-black shade with red highlights. These can be seen not only on the interior, but also the leather seats.
There is a big touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard and big air-con vents below it. The former supports DVD playback, bluetooth, telephony etc.
The other features include ABS with EBD, brake assist, stability program, ISOFIX child seat mounting points and a traction control program.
We can expect Toyota to launch the Vios in petrol and diesel engine options in India. These will be made available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
