The Fortuner has always been a popular choice in the premium SUV segment. In an effort to further boost its sales this festive season, Toyota will be introducing the 2017 Fortuner TRD Sportivo edition in India soon. Changes in the upcoming model will be limited to cosmetic upgrades and will continue to be powered in existing engine options.
The upcoming Fortuner TRD Sportivo will be the second sporty model from Toyota after the Innova Touring Sport. Recently, the vehicle was spotted in white with black detailing to distinguish it from a regular version. The vehicle gets a new body kit with front and rear bumper extensions. The chrome finish grille as seen in the standard model has been replaced with a gloss black finish and gets the ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging. The SUV gets black and red body decals on the side along with new black and silver finished alloy wheels.
As for the interior, it gets all-black upholstery with red stitching. The vehicle will also get TRD Sportivo highlight on door sills, seats and floor mats. Mechanically, it will continue to be powered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will continue with the 2.7-litre engine that generates 162bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. The diesel version gets a 2.8-litre engine that generates 175bhp of power and 450Nm of peak torque. The Fortuner TRD Sportivo will also continue to be available in six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options. Additionally, it will also be available with an all-wheel drive system. Although, the pricing remains unannounced for now, we believe it will cost nearly a lakh over the current prices.
