The Nexon is Tata's new compact SUV to be launched in India in the coming year. A camouflaged test mule of the same was spotted testing in Pune showing off the driving modes in its pre-production guise.
The Nexon's latest spyshots show the new driving modes knob as against the buttons used in the Bolt and Zest. This basically to toggle between the driving modes - city, eco and sport. The other features in the cabin will include a push start and stop button, keyless entry, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking camera, navigation, aux, bluetooth and USB connectivity.
The upcoming Nexon will be underpinned by a revised version of the Zest platform. Engine options will include a turbocharged Revotron 1.2-litre petrol engine and a new 1.5-litre diesel mill, which will churn out around 110bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. A new six-speed manual transmission will send power to the front wheels of the Nexon.
The images also show the compact yet large size of the Tata Nexon out on the road. The exterior features with a butch look on the final product are expected to be similar to what we were shown at the Auto Expo at the start of this year. The SUV will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Ford EcoSport when launched in India in early 2017.
