Porsche India has officially launched the 2017 Panamera today at an event in Mumbai. The carmaker is offering the four-door coupe in two variants - Turbo and Turbo Executive, priced at Rs 1.93 crore and Rs 2.06 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai), respectively. Take a look at this exclusive picture gallery of the car from the launch event.
The Panamera's overall design language is inspired by the new 911. Some minor cues have also been borrowed from the 718 Boxster and Cayman twins.
The front boasts of a new set of LED lights. These lamps are instrumental in providing a new family look to the car's face.
Coming to the sides, the most evident change can be seen here. The car has a slimmer profile that makes it look better than its predecessor.
At the back, the wraparound tail lamps and a new extendable spoiler are the main highlights that add flair to the look of the sports luxury car.
This is the second-gen Panamera, whose cabin features a fully digital control panel that replaces conventional physical knobs and buttons.
The dashboard features a 12.3-inch touchscreen system on the centre console. The carmaker has equipped it with the updated Porsche Communication Management (PCM 4.1).
Both the trims of the new Panamera are powered by a 4.0-litre, V8 petrol mill that belt out 543bhp of power and 770Nm of torque.
The power output sees an increment of 30bhp and 70Nm of torque as compared to the earlier-gen model. This powerplant still comes mated to an eight-speed PDK transmission.
This latest iteration of the Panamera Turbo is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds. This can further be cut down by 0.2 seconds by opting for a sport-chrono package.
The new Panamera includes the brand's trademark all-wheel drive system. There are four driving modes on offer - Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.
Apart from the wizardry in the cabin, the vehicle comes loaded with many new technological features like adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology.
Then there is a rear axle steering, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control System with Torque Vectoring Plus and 4D chassis control system.
