Nissan will launch the 2017 Terrano for the Indian market tomorrow and ahead of the debut the feature list as well as the variant options have been leaked. The leaked images suggest that This 2017 Terrano is expected to be offered in one petrol and four diesel options of which the latter also includes an AMT variant.
Firstly, the feature list has now been expanded to include a touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted audio controls as well as cruise control. Also included in this update is a new cabin colour which sees the upholstery move from black and beige to a slightly premium looking brown and beige.
Externally there appear to be no major changes to the curvy Renault body and straight Nissan face when the car was launched in 2014. As is the case with the current model, the XE and XL diesel make uses of the 1.5-litre mill in the 84bhp output while the XV D and XV D AMT are in the 108bhp with the latter being the only one that is offered with the AMT option. The petrol is a 1.6-litre unit and can be had with a five-speed manual.
We believe that Nissan will only marginally hike prices of the SUV as it cannot afford to make too high a jump with the costs due to the already high pricing of the vehicle. The Terrano competes with the likes of the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio and most of the C-segment sedans.
