Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2017 model year GLA SUV in India at Rs 30.65 Lakh (All India ex-showroom). The update for the GLA includes minor cosmetic upgrade with a new infotainment system on the inside. The updated GLA Class was revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
The updated GLA has been fitted with a redesigned bumper both fore and aft. The headlight units have been tweaked with new lightning signature while the tail lights get a new LED treatment. The grille has also been tweaked a bit with a dash of chrome.
On the inside, the interior is revised with new dials and instrument console and electric seat controls to keep things fresh. The crossover SUV from Stuttgart comes with two new interior trims, two zone climate control, sunroof and power seats, 12 step ambient lighting, auto dimming mirrors and all the bells and whistle expected of a car in this price range.
Mechanically, the GLA continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre petrol engine in the GLA200 trim, the GLA 220d gets a 2.2-litre oil burner. The transmission options remains the same seven-speed automatic sending power to the front wheels and in the case of the 220d All-wheel drive is standard.
The GLA continues its fray with the likes of BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mini Countryman and the newly introduced Volkswagen Tiguan.
