News about the next-gen Swift Dzire has kept many eagerly waiting for the new model to arrive. The upcomin 2017 model with fresh design upgrades will continue to hold customer interest and retain its top seller position in the segment. Ahead of its expected debut in mid-2017, the vehicle has been spotted on-test in the country, thereby giving some glimpse of what we can expect from the new model.
The next-gen Swift Dzire will not get any mechanical upgrades and will continue to be powered by existing 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel which has been sourced from Fiat. Changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades and though the test mule was heavily camouflaged, it is likely to be based on the upcoming next-gen Swift hatchback which might be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Based on what can be seen, the upcoming model is expected to carry a sharper design rather than the current curvy design. The sides are not expected to get major upgrades except for revised alloys, while the front might get projector headlamps and new grille.
The new model is also expected to be a little lighter in weight in comparison to the existing model. As for the interior, the new model is expected to be tweaked for freshness and also get a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay in the top spec version. Though a top seller in its category, the new model will further strengthen its position against the Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo. More details about the upcoming vehicle will be known in the coming days.
