The latest spyshots of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire reveal a fully-unmasked, updated model of the compact sedan. The car is expected to make a debut in the coming month.
As expected, the upcoming compact sedan gets a design similar to the new-gen Swift. Upfront, there is a new large chrome grille, reworked bumper with revised air intakes and new fog lamps with chrome surrounds. The rear sports wraparound tail lights with LED units, a bold chrome garnish, new spoiler on the boot-lid and a restyled bumper.
There are some changes inside the cabin as well. The dashboard too has been adapted from the upcoming Swift. The touch screen system has been borrowed from the other Maruti siblings - Ignis and the Baleno. We also anticipate that the carmaker may update the upholstery for a premium look to the interiors.
The powertrains are expected to remain unchanged. The petrol Dzire is powered by an 84bhp 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12B mill that comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the oil-burner gets a 74bhp 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder engine that can be had with either a five-speed manual or AMT transmission.
So far, there had been much conjecture about the possible changes to the new Dzire, but these latest spy shots have many of these speculations to rest. It however, still remains to be seen if these changes go deeper than mere cosmetic modifications. More on that is expected to be confirmed in the next month.
