The current generation of Lexus CT is popular as the world’s first complete hybrid luxury compact car. The car has been serving the international markets for nearly seven years now. This time around, sources have rendered the images of the second-generations Lexus CT, thereby hinting on how the next-gen model will look like.
The 2017 Lexus CT test mules have been spotted on European roads. It is believed that the second-generation model will be the first one among Lexus to offer the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture). The third-gen Toyota Prius uses the powertrain from the current generation Lexus CT. It is anticipated that the upcoming second generation model might borrow the 118bhp hybrid powertrain which currently serves the new generation Prius.
Going by the images, the 2017 Lexus CT seems to be carrying design upgrades from the Lexus RX and the Lexus RC. The front looks sharper with a bigger grille and sporty headlamps. More details about the car will be known at a later date. The 2017 Lexus CT is expected to debut in Japan first, sometime by second half of next year, soon followed by North America and European markets.
