The Volkswagen Tiguan is making headlines in India and around the world and to keep things going strong, VW has introduced a sporty R-Line package in the US market. It has a body kit and some sporty bits inside the car, but it remains the same mechanically.
Exterior updates to the Tiguan include sporty front and rear bumpers where the front ones are quite noticeable thanks to the design. It gets diamond cut alloy wheels and massive twin chrome exhaust pipes at the rear. Also adding to the image are small R-Line badges at the side and rear.
The cabin is standard VW fare and it is based on the top spec Tiguan that is offered in the US. It comes with climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, chrome pedals, leather seats and a little R-Line badge on the steering. Powering this is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit producing 184bhp/300Nm of torque with an eight-speed AT as standard. AWD is optional extra.
Given how SUVs have suddenly jumped to the forefront in India, it seems more than likely that VW may offer the R-Line package for India. However, this version will be priced significantly higher than the standard car as the R-Line components would have to be imported to India.
