Hyundai Xcent, a popular selling compact sedan in the country is set to be launched with mild facelift sometime soon. This might be introduced post the launch of Grand i10 facelift in the country. The new version of the Xcent will get slightly bigger diesel engine this time around along with mild cosmetic upgrades.
2017 Hyundai Xcent will be available in petrol as well diesel engine options. The petrol version will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which comes mated to a five-speed manual as well as CVT options. As for diesel, this time around a 1.2-litre is expected to be on offer instead of an older 1.1-litre variant. The new diesel will offer slightly higher performance numbers and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The front section is not clearly visible for now and it is believed that the vehicle will get a larger hexagonal grille and new stylish foglamps with integrated DRLs. The front is expected to have an uncanny resemblance to the upcoming Grand i10 facelift. As for the rear section, though camouflaged, based on what can be seen the 2017 facelift version is likely to get larger tail lamps. The new model will also get new wheel caps.
The interior of the new Xcent is expected to get mild upgrades in form of revised upholstery and an integrated touchscreen system in higher trims. For safety, the new model will get airbags as standard. As for the pricing element, it is expected to be priced around the existing range and post launch will compete strongly against Maruti Swift Dzire diesel variant. For commercial users, a mild hike in power output figures from the diesel variant will be welcome as they have been eagerly looking forward to better performance figures.
