Honda will launch the facelift of the current generation of the Honda City sedan on February 14. The new-generation City had been launched in 2014 and the facelift is a part of its mid-life update.
The front grille has become bolder with the honey-mesh grille and the thicker horizontal slat. The bumper has also been redesigned and now gets a three part air dam. Since it is the same body shell, the profile is exactly the same and gets a new design of alloy wheels. The tail lamps might be tweaked as well along with the rear bumper.
The new Honda City wil continue to run the same mills as the current car – the 1.5-litre i-Vtec and the 1.5-litre turbocharged i-Dtec engines. The 1.5-litre i-Vtec develops 117bhp of power and might be mated to a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre diesel engine develops 99bhp of power and a six-speed manual gearbox.
The new City is expected to be priced marginally above the previous car and we can expect a price tag of Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
