Honda has just launched the 2017 facelift of the Honda City at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This iteration has exterior updates, more features and while the E and VX (O) variants have been axed, a new top-end variant called the ‘ZX’ has been added.
As a matter of fact, the 2017 City variants include S, SV, V, VX and ZX. As the S variant will now be the base model, it will be available with only the petrol motor. All other variants can be had with either the petrol or the diesel engine. That said, the petrol CVT will be offered on the V, VX and the ZX variants.
Some of the new features that find their way into the 2017 City include auto LED headlamps and DRLs, LED tail lamps, new alloys, and a new spoiler with LED brake lights. There’s also the new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and reverse camera, auto wipers, driver and passenger airbags with the option of side and curtain airbags.
The facelifted City will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that makes 119bhp and the i-DTEC diesel mill which produces 100bhp. While the petrol motor will be mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT, the diesel engine will use a six-speed manual gearbox.
