The EcoSport compact SUV has been a major contributor to Ford’s overall sales figures. Ahead of the 2017 Ford Ecosport being launched, we have received images of the test mule. In terms of changes, the new model will receive cosmetic upgrades while mechanically it will continue to be powered by existing engine options.
Under the hood, the 2017 Ford EcoSport will continue to be powered by 1.5-litre engines in petrol and diesel guise. The petrol version will continue to generate 110bhp of power and 140Nm of torque, while the diesel version generates 99bhp of power and 205Nm of torque. Based on what can be seen, the new EcoSport will get a restyled large twin-slat grille and redesigned headlamps on the front. The compact SUV will also get new fog lamps that will complement the redesigned bumper. At the rear, the car featured its traditional externally mounted spare wheel design. The taillights will also be tweaked for a fresh appeal.
As for the interior, the 2017 Ford EcoSport will get a revised upholstery pattern and Ford SYNC2 infotainment system with an updated colour display panel. For freshness, the car will also get new control switches for the climate control infotainment unit. As seen in photos, the new model will also get bigger tyres.
The production ready model is expected to be showcased at the Sao Paulo Auto Show that will be held later this year. More details about the car will be revealed then.
