A fully built prototype of the 2017 Ford EcoSport was recently caught on camera in China. The heavy camouflage on both the front and rear-ends would eventually make way for some noticeable changes to the design though it’s the interior that will feature a whole new look.
Now as far as first impressions are concerned, it seems the new EcoSport is likely to ditch its funky design cues for a more universally accepted look. This explains the simplified appearance of the centre console and the square-ish design elements. The infotainment system, too, sits more upright and is easier on the eye as well.
Ford is also likely to use a lot of silver trimmings and darker textures for a more premium look. Equipment list, meanwhile, will be updated to keep up with the competition.
Introduced back in 2013, the EcoSport has been doing decently well ever since then. Ford India has even launched a more powerful diesel engine option and cut down the prices significantly to compete with the newfound competition in the form of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
