The 2017 Fiat 500L has been unveiled. Apart from a few cosmetic updates, the Fiat 500L also features a slew of new comfort creatures and technology.
The new Fiat 500L gets a revised front bumper with the signature trapezoidal trim and the chromed lower grille mesh. The LED DRLs are offered as a standard. Even the wheel arches and the rear section get chrome strips. The fog and reversing lights have been moved to the underside of the bumper.
The interior of the new Fiat 500L gets a major overhaul, while retaining its retro look. There are chrome accents all around to give it an elegant look. The driver gets a TFT colour digital display in the instrument console. As for practicality, there are new, larger storage spaces. It also gets a new central armrest, with the gear lever being moved slightly higher. The infotainment system allows smartphone integration.
The petrol engine line-up includes a 95-horsepower 1.4-litre unit and a 1.4-litre T-Jet unit, delivering 120 horsepower. The diesel line-up includes a 95-horsepower 1.3-litre MultiJet and a 120-horsepower 1.6-litre MultiJet.
Customisability forms an important part of any Fiat 500's appeal. As such, the 500L is available in no less than ten pastel or metallic colours and with three types of roof - body-coloured, glossy black or white or matt black. This gives customers over 36 options to get their personalised Mini.
The Fiat 500L is available in three versions - Cross, Urban and Wagon. It is also available with five pre-customised trims - City, Comfort, Safety, Style and Style Plus. Prices start at GBP 16,195 in the UK. Deliveries will commence in September.
