The recently unveiled 2017 Audi Q5 range has found its flagship iteration in the form of the new SQ5. Audi has made it official that this high performance crossover will go on sale starting April.
The new SQ5 is the successor to the first ever Audi Q model to bear the ‘S’ badge. It is powered by a V6 TFSI engine delivering 350bhp of power and 500Nm of torque across a wide range. With a 0-100kmph sprint time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph, the SQ5 is one of the fastest crossovers in the world.
The new SQ5 is 4,671mm long, 1,893mm wide and 1,635mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,824mm. The V6 TFSI engine weighs 172kg and thus 14kg less than the previous supercharged engine.
In terms of equipment, the SQ5 gets 20-inch, cast aluminum wheels in a 5-twin-spoke star design, LED headlights, S-specific damper control, high beam assist and leather upholstered electric seats. Naturally, the 8-speed tiptronic gearbox is mated to quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
