Chevrolet is currently busy developing the much anticipated Beat Essentia compact sedan that’s scheduled to go on sale next year. Besides it, the American automaker is also readying the 2017 Beat which will go on sale by the middle of next year.
The 2017 model will mark the third major update for the Beat since its launch in the Indian market. In terms of updates, the 2017 Beat will get revised exteriors with a new font-end, taillight and alloy wheels. Inside, there will be some upgrades to the upholstery and minor design changes.
Under the hood, engine options will remain unchanged. This means buyers will be able to choose between the existing 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 75bhp/106Nm and the 1-litre diesel producing 57bhp/142Nm. Both engines are paired to a five-speed manual.
The 2017 Beat will continue to compete with cars like the Tata Tigo and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The Essentia, on the other hand, will take on the likes of Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire and the Hyundai Xcent.
