The 2017 Chevrolet Beat has been spotted testing and this time around the spy shots have revealed bits of the cabin. The car will be launched next year and will be the third iteration of the hatchback for the Indian market.
Chevrolet has opted to keep the overall layout similar to the existing Beat albeit with some changes. The car's interior gets a dual tone treatment with silver accents on the dashboard. There are chrome surrounds for the air-con vents to add to the premium look. The matte silver paint on the steering wheel can also be seen on the centre console, which sports a new touch screen system. We expect this to be the brand's MyLink2 infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Steering mounted audio controls, switches for power mirrors and foldable key suggest that this might be the top-of-the-line variant of the Beat. If this is the case, then there will be no automatic climate control as manual knobs for the air-con unit can be seen. Another interesting component is the analog instrument cluster with blue back lighting.
In terms of external appearance, the new Beat will take inspiration from the American market Chevrolet Spark. We had also seen a preview of this look through the Beat Essentia compact sedan that was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.
On the powertrain front, the carmaker is expected to carry over the petrol and diesel engine options from the existing Beat. This facelifted Beat might be launched in India early next year as per Chevrolet's two-year launch plan of introducing five new models for the Indian market. This includes this Beat, the Beat Activ, Essentia, new Trailblazer and the next-gen Cruze.
