BMW, one of the key player in the premium segment will be introducing the all-new 5 Series 530d in India by end of June 2017. Showcased at a private unveiling in Mumbai for customers, the new model comes loaded with fresh design and feature upgrades. The new model is more promising than ever before and it borrows a few of its top-spec features from the 7 Series.
Under the hood, the upcoming BMW 5 Series 530d is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine. Mated to eight speed automatic transmission, the new model generates a powerful 261bhp of power and 620Nm of torque, which enables the vehicle to sprint from 0-100kph in just about 5.7 seconds. BMW might also introduce 188bhp four-cylinder diesel unit in the 520d variant, while there might also be a petrol 249bhp four-cylinder engine in the 530i trim.
Speaking of features, the new BMW 5 Series gets fully digital instrument cluster, gesture controls, adaptive driving modes and the latest iDrive system. Interestingly, the vehicle now comes with touchscreen key that helps move the vehicle back and forth from tight parking spaces. Moreover, the key also reads out mileage details while allowing the owner to turn on the engine as well as turn on the climate control even before entering the vehicle. The dashboard offers a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that reads out all the vital details to assist while driving.
The new 5 Series from BMW is offered with high quality genuine leather upholstery wrapped around supportive seats at the back and front. The front seats get the memory function, while the rear offers adequate legroom for the occupants. This time around, the new 5 Series offers an additional compartment in the boot known as the space saver. Post its expected launch in first half of this year, the vehicle will emerge as a strong competitor against the Mercedes Benz E-Class. The vehicle is expected to be priced between Rs 55 lakh – Rs 65 lakh in this country.
