Last year Audi facelifted its Q3 compact SUV for the first time since its debut and now this year, they have updated the styling cues. Dubbed the 2017 Audi Q3, it gets external and internal styling updates but remains the same mechanically.
Now no longer the baby SUV of the range, the Q3 has donned a more aggressive design to differentiate it from the recently unveiled Q2 crossover. This aggressiveness comes from a revised grille design and larger air intakes which have given muscle to the face. Audi will also add a new colour called camouflage green to the palette of the Q3.
This year also sees the introduction of a new S line exterior package which includes a front skirt as well as gloss black colour trim for the grille and air intakes. It’s a similar story on the inside with black inserts for the doors, mirrors, roof rails and windows. This special trim also gets gloss black 19inch alloy wheels, sports seats and a flat bottomed steering wheel.
This revised Q3 will go on sale across Europe a few months from now and is priced the same as the outgoing model except for the S Line trim which is priced higher. This car will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and we in India are expected to get it in mid-2017. The car is assembled locally for the Indian market so expect no price changes from the current car. It competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the soon-to-be-launched Jaguar F-Pace.
