Audi has recently launched the 2017 A3 Cabriolet facelift for the Indian market at a price of Rs 47.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is an updated model of the convertible that was on sale in our country earlier. The drop-top version, in its latest iteration, gets some cosmetic tweaks and a downsized engine. This picture gallery will take you through the changes seen on the car.
The 2017 A3 Cabriolet sports full LED headlamps, newly shaped LED DRLs and an updated front bumper with a more pronounced hexagonal grille.
From the sides, the car is more or less the same save for the new alloy wheels. Then the rear gets reprofiled tail lamps with LED dynamic turn indicators.
This convertible comes equipped with a light-weight soft top roof as standard. Plus, Audi is also offering an optional acoustic roof with effective noise insulation.
The A3 Cabriolet sports a hydraulic roof folding mechanism that can operate even while the car is moving at speeds of up to 50kmph.
The features in the cabin include dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, a 7.0-inch MMI infotainment screen and satellite navigation. Then a Bang & Olufsen sound system is an optional extra.
Five airbags, ABS and EBD take care of the occupant safety. Audi is also offering a parking system plus with front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.
Under the hood of the new A3 Cabriolet, is a 1.4-litre TFSI powerplant that replaces the predecessor's 1.8-litre unit.
This downsized engine produces 148bhp of power, 29bhp less than the pre-facelift model. Nevertheless, the torque remains the same at 250Nm.
This new mill also features Audi's cylinder-on-demand technology that can temporarily shut down cylinders when the engine is working at partial load.
Along with the downsized mill, this technology has resulted in achieving a company-claimed fuel efficiency of 19.20kmpl.
