The Toyota Innova is currently the leader in the MPV segment and has been a constant seller for Toyota since its inception in 2005. However, the competition is believed to be catching up and it seems that the Japanese automaker has taken note of this and will introduce a new model by the end of next year. The test mule for this model has been spotted outside Bengaluru, most likely near their factory in Bidadi.
The pictures reveal that the 2016 Toyota Innova is likely to keep a very similar design as compared to the current car. It will however, get the obvious change in various elements to keep in line with the Japanese automaker’s new design language which it debuted in India with the Corolla sedan. It also appears to have a lower roof line and has become wider.
The Innova will obviously get a major upgrade with regard to the interiors and may just get a feature list and design language very close to that of the Corolla as they are now in similar price brackets with regard to the higher- spec variants. The engine line up is expected to remain the same as the current model but may just include an AT option. This will not be priced too high as this version already exists in MPV- crazy Indonesia.
As we had said in the introduction, the car has been a constant seller for Toyota and they will put a large effort behind the 2016 Innova to ensure it succeeds.
