Toyota’s Fortuner SUV has always impressed owners across the globe. Recently, the automaker had launched the new Fortuner in the international market, while the Indian market is yet to get the latest one. Fresh images reveal the new model which has arrived at certain dealerships in Gujarat and it will soon be delivered across other dealerships in the country as well.
As for design, the new Fortuner gets more stylish and aggressive than ever before. The front sports new slim grille design with chrome slats on each side. The sleeker headlamps with projector units and LED DRLs offer it a sportier appeal. Additionally, the bumpers have been redesigned with chrome accents and round fog lamp housings. The LED taillamps at the rear and reduced roofline render it a sporty appeal.
As for dimensions, the new model is about 90mm longer and 15mm wider than the current model. However, its height and wheelbase has been reduced by about 15mm and 5mm respectively. As for interior, it will now get a large infotainment system located in the centre of the dashboard along with premium leather upholstery.
The new Toyota Fortuner will be powered by 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre GD engine options which puts out 148bhp and 400Nm of torque, and 177bhp of power and 450Nm of torque respectively. Both the engines will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel drive system is likely to be offered in a bigger engine variant. It is to be seen if the Japanese automaker will also introduce a petrol variant this time. More details about the pricing aspect will be known in the coming days.
