The 2016 Skoda Superb has been spotted in Mumbai ahead of its official debut early next year. This latest generation Superb was unveiled last year and is the third generation for the Czech automaker’s flagship sedan. Thanks to our reader Talha Jafferi for the pictures.
The car in the photos is a silver model (a popular colour among buyers of the cars) and is most likely a top-spec model. However, given parent company VW's policy of minimal badging, it is not possible to tell if this car is a diesel or petrol model.
While there no pictures of the interior of the car, we know from the previous spy pics and global images that this new Superb will get features like climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, electric adjustment for the driver’s seat and optional full leather package on at least one model.
When launched in India next year, the Skoda Superb will be offered with one petrol and diesel engine. The former is a 1.8-litre unit which produces 158bhp and 250Nm of torque while the latter is a 2.0-litre unit that produces 138bhp and 320Nm of torque. Both engines are expected to be offered only with a seven-speed DSG.
Given that this is a completely new car, we expect a significant price increase for the Superb when it is launched next year.
