The 2016 Nissan Altima has been spotted testing in the US. The spy shots show a camouflaged test mule sporting comprehensive cosmetic updates, which give the car a completely new look.
The new Altima’s design will be in tune with the latest Nissan offerings like the Murano and the Maxima. The new front fascia mimics the company’s ‘V-Motion’ design philosophy, which adds a fresh touch to the car. This front grille, along with the air vents in the lower bumper gives the car an aggressive look. Even the interior can be expected to get a host of updates, including a new touchscreen display and an updated infotainment system. The Altima is available with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine which delivers 182bhp and 243Nm of torque, and a 3.5-litre V6 which packs 270bhp and 349Nm of torque.
Globally, the Altima rivals other sedans like the Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Passat and Honda Accord. It is expected to go on sale in other international markets by the end of this year.
