The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe has been unveiled ahead of its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It looks like a smaller version of the S-Class coupe and shares much of the external design with the two-door S-Class.
The new C-Class Coupe is wider, longer and has a larger wheelbase than the outgoing model. It follows the same design cues as the S-Class coupe but has a smaller rear overhang when compared to the larger car. The cabin is pretty much similar to that of the standard C-Class right down to the layout of the cabin and the feature list. One of the new additions to the C-Class coupe is that the climate control system works in conjunction with the SAT-NAV system to close the recirculation every time the car enters a tunnel.
On the engine front, Mercedes-Benz has released only information on the C300 and C300 4MATIC. They both get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 214bhp and 370Nm of torque with power going to the rear wheels via a seven-speed DSG. We expect that the C-Class Coupe mechanicals will be like their sedan counterparts.
The Euro-spec model will go on sale at the end of September while the US market will get the car next March. Except for the C63 AMG, this body style is not expected to be offered in India any time soon.
