Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming big launch for India, the Ignis is currently under the shimmering lights at the ongoing 2016 Indonesia Auto Show. Interestingly, the show car is equipped with an AMT gearbox and it’s the first time that we have seen the automated-manual variant of the Ignis.
For Indonesia, Suzuki will be offering the Ignis with a 1.2 litre petrol engine developing 84bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. The petrol motor will be paired to either a 5 speed manual or an AMT gearbox as seen in the show car. The India-spec model, on the other hand, will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Ignis with a competitive price range of Rs 4 to 6.5 lakh, thanks to a high level of localisation. The car will mainly compete with the likes of Mahindra KUV100.
