2016 Honda City facelift spied in China

The Honda City facelift has been spotted in its production-ready avatar, in China. The completely undisguised Chinese-spec model gives us a glimpse of the host of cosmetic updates that might eventually make it to the Indian market.

Internally called 2BW, the Honda City facelift has been styled along the lines of the Japanese manufacturer’s ‘Exciting H Design!!!’ design language. The front of the car gets a redesigned fascia thanks to a redesigned bumper and a new grille, which blends in with the headlamps. The rear also gets a major revamp for the tail lamps and the bumper design, to give it a completely new look.

Being a mid-cycle facelift, we can expect the new City to be mechanically identical to the current car. While the Honda City, which is christened ‘Grace’ in the Chinese market, comes fully loaded with all the features, the Indian-spec car misses out on a bunch of these creature comforts. Despite this, the Honda City comes with a decent feature list, which makes it a good value for money proposition in its segment.

The new Honda City is expected to be launched in China this September. While there aren’t any reports of the car being introduced here as of now, Honda might launch the new City in India by the end of this year.
