The latest iteration of the Honda Accord might be launched in Thailand on February 25. This model was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and will also be launched for the Indian market this year.
This is the 9th generation of the Honda Accord that sports a new grille, LED headlamps, LED fog lamps and LED tail lamps. These sporty looks are complemented by new features inside like a seven-inch touchscreen audio infotainment system, which supports android auto and Apple CarPlay. The premium sedan will also come equipped with more safety features like ABS, EBD, airbags etc.
The Honda Accord will be offered in petrol as well as hybrid powertrain options. The petrol versions include a 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine (153bhp, 190Nm) and a 2.4-litre i-VTEC four cylinder based on Earth Dreams Technology engine (172bhp, 225Nm). For the Indian market, only the petrol variant is expected to be offered at the start and the hybrid will be introduced at a later stage.
Honda's Accord enjoys a strong legacy in the premium sedan segment in India with the earlier generations having made a strong foothold. The launch of the new Accord will mark the re-introduction of the sedan in the Indian market and will strengthen Honda's sedan line-up.
